Jon Tribble: Reading from his collections
Jon Tribble, poet and editor of the journal Crab Orchard Review will read on Thursday, May 4, at 6 p.m. in the G. T. Madison Hall Auditorium, Room 105 on the Louisiana Tech campus. Books will be available at the reading with a book signing and Q&A following. The public is invited to attend.
Tribble, who also serves as the series editor of the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry published by Southern Illinois University Press, teaches creative writing and literature, and directs undergraduate and graduate students in internships and independent study in editing and literary publishing for the Department of English at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His work was selected as the 2001 winner of the Campbell Corner Poetry Prize from Sarah Lawrence College, and he received a 2003 Artist Fellowship Award in Poetry from the Illinois Arts Council. His poems have appeared in journals and anthologies, including Ploughshares. Poetry, Crazyhorse, Quarterly West, and The Jazz Poetry Anthology.
In addition to his public reading, on Thursday, at 10 a.m. for the English 384: Creative Writing class which meets in G. T. Madison 223, Tribble will give a special presentation advising students on how to get their work published. All Tech creative writing students and faculty may attend.
