COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS
Howard Center for the Performing Arts
Located on the southernmost point of Louisiana Tech University’s historic Quadrangle is Howard Center for the Performing Arts. Howard Center is home to the administrative offices of the School of the Performing Arts. It also contains Howard Auditorium, an 1150-seat performance venue used for music ensemble concerts, LTCA events, and musical productions.
Two other performance spaces are also contained in Howard Center: the Arthur W. Stone Theatre, a 150-seat petite proscenium, and the Recital Hall, the perfect setting for student and guest recitals, lectures, and masterclasses. The Choir Room, Black Box Acting Studio, practice rooms, classrooms, and the applied studios for piano, high brass, low brass, voice, guitar, strings, flute, and double reeds are all contained in Howard Center.
Nestled between Woodard Hall and the prestigious A.E. Phillips Lab School is Tech’s other music facility, the Band Building. Home to the Band Office, this building houses two large rehearsal rooms, along with additional practice rooms, a state-of-the-art music technology lab, and the applied studios for single reeds and percussion.
