Tech to hold national juried art competition

Louisiana Tech is accepting submissions for its first national juried competition, “Louisiana Purchase: National Biennial Juried Exhibition.” This is a multi-media show for two-dimensional works exploring any theme. Juror for the competition is Barbara Bloemink, an international independent curator and museum consultant. Bloemink has served as the curatorial director of the Smithsonian’s National Design Museum and director and chief curator of the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia and the Hudson River Museum. The deadline to enter the exhibition is Jan. 2, and artists chosen will be notified Jan. 17. The dates of the exhibition are March 2 through April 7.
