Annual concert jazzes up the TONK

Delight in a music-filled study break at the Fall Quarter “Jazz Lunch” Concert 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  Friday, Nov. 11 in the Student Center, Main Floor. Students are invited to grab a lunch on campus and bring it to the TONK for a wide variety of jazz from the 1930s until now played by Louisiana Tech Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Lawrence Gibbs, director of Tech Jazz Ensemble and associate professor of music. Relax to the music of Stan Kenton, Benny Goodman, Les Hooper and Gordon Goodwin and the Big Phat Band. Watch out for guest artists like Mark Michelle, professional bassist and former member of the Tech Jazz Ensemble, on bass guitar and Scott Smith, professional musician and former lead trumpet player for Tech Jazz Ensemble, on trumpet.
