Dr. Dolliann Hurtig from Louisiana Tech’s School of Literature and Language presented at the Louisiana Foreign Language Teachers’ Association Conference in Lafayette recently. Hurtig organized and headed three consecutive round table discussions of dual enrollment instructors from across the state working with Louisiana Tech. Hurtig also delivered a presentation in French on the award-winning film of the life of one of the greatest hockey players of all time, Maurice Richard, titled “The Rocket: The Legend of Rocket Richard.” The film focuses on the discrimination against the Francophone players in the NHL and on how Richard’s determination as an activist for change never wavered. Hurtig serves as co-chair of the American Association of Teachers of French National Commission on the Promotion of French.
