Drawings and survey documentation of the I. Ed Wile house in Shreveport created by a group of eight Louisiana Tech architecture students enrolled in Architecture 403 will be submitted into the annual Charles E. Peterson Competition. The Wile house was designed in 1934 by prolific modern architect Samuel G. Weiner III and is known as one of the earliest modern houses built before World War II. The group is comprised by graduate and undergraduate students and is led by Professor Guy Carwile, who was awarded a grant for the project from the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation. The Charles E. Peterson Competition is a national competition annually sponsored by the Historic American Buildings Survey of the National Parks Service, the Historic Resources Committee of the American Institute of Architects and the Athenaeum of Philadelphia.
