Stone Theatre to produce John Patrick Shanley’s “Doubt, A Parable”
The Louisiana Tech University’s School of the Performing Arts is pleased to announce its upcoming production of John Patrick Shanley’s award-winning drama, “Doubt, A Parable,” which is directed by Dr. Kenneth Robbins.
Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. and run October 23-26, and October 30-November 2 in the Stone Theatre, located in the Howard Center for the Performing Arts on the corner of Adams Boulevard and Dan Reneau Drive.
In 2005, “Doubt, A Parable” was awarded both the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Set at St. Nicholas Church School in 1964’s Bronx, NY, “Doubt, A Parable” tells the story of Sister Aloysius, a nun who suspects St. Nicholas’s priest of misconduct in his meetings with Donald Muller, the school’s first African American student. Can Sister Aloysius discover the truth and eliminate the doubt in her own life?
The Stone Theatre Box Office, located in the lobby of Howard Auditorium, is open Monday through Friday, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at $20 for adults, $7 for students and continuing education students with a valid Tech I.D., $15 for children 14 and under and seniors 65 and over, and $10 for individuals in groups of 10 or more.
