Dr. Dolliann Hurtig

Hurtig led a panel/roundtable discussion on the benefits of dual enrollment for high school students. Such benefits include receiving credit for university courses, paying less tuition for taking a dual enrollment course at the high school level and advanced standing upon one’s entry into the university. The Louisiana Foreign Language Teachers’ Convention is an established state conference where high school and grade school teachers receive credit for professional development. University professors who choose to participate often organize panels/ roundtables and give presentations to groups. Participants in the panel/roundtable on dual enrollment from the Ruston community and/or involved with dual enrollment in conjunction with Louisiana Tech include Corinne Nutt and Annie Rivera from Ruston High School, Stephanie Viator and Carmen Trevison from Cedar Creek High School, MaryForest Broussard from Catholic High School of New Iberia, Stacy Freeman from Teurlings High School of Lafayette, Rhonda Thurman from Alexandria Senior High School of Alexandria. Louisiana Tech University has a strong dual enrollment program where many Tech professors and high school teachers work together in conjunction with the Office of Dual Enrollment on the Tech campus to ensure student success.
