yMusic on October 4 in Howard redefines classical music

The 2018-2019 Louisiana Tech Concert Association (LTCA) season kicks off October 4 in Howard Auditorium with yMusic, a show designed to make the audience reimagine the limits of classical music. Using a unique configuration of instruments such as a string trio, flute, clarinet, and trumpet, yMusic brings the classical chamber music aesthetic to a more contemporary scene.

yMusic’s unique blend of pop and classical music has caught the attention of many artists, such as Bon Iver and José Gonzalez. Along with their two solo albums, Balance Problemsand Beautiful Mechanical, they have also collaborated on an album with Ben Folds, So There.Described as providing “vivid instrumental textures” by National Public Radio’s Mike Katzif, yMusic is a show you will not want to miss.

Ticket prices:

  • Adults: $30
  • Seniors 60 years and older and youth 12 and under: $25
  • Students with Student ID: $10.
