Groundling set to open Oct. 23
Opening night for the Louisiana Tech University Department of Theatre’s production of The Groundling, an hysterical look at one man’s interpretation of playwrighting in his own garage, is less than two weeks away.
Written by Marc Palmieri and directed by professor Kristen Blossom, The Groundling will be produced at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23-27 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 in Arthur W. Stone Theatre, located in Tech’s Howard Center for the Performing Arts.
The play is set in Robert Malone’s garage where two theater professionals work to stage a love story between two young romantics. The play is laced with lessons about love and loss through Bob’s retelling of his youth, which illustrates how theatre truly is a reflection of life, even if the mirror happens to be cracked. All the world’s a stage, including Bob’s garage.
Ticket prices are $20 for general audience, $15 for seniors (60+), $15 for youth under 12, and $10 for students. For more information about individual tickets and group rates, please call the box office at 318.257.3942, visit latechuniversitytheatre.com, or visit the Stone lobby from 1:30-4:45 p.m. weekdays.
