Louisiana Tech’s department of history is accepting applications for the Garnie W. McGinty undergraduate scholarships in history for the 2012-2013 academic year. To be eligible for consideration, entering freshmen must have an ACT composite score of at least 26.  Students already attending Tech must have an overall GPA of 3.5 or above.  All scholarship holders must be history majors at Tech. Applicants for McGinty scholarships will also be considered for the Travis E. Melton Jr. Scholarship in History. For more information and application forms, students should contact the department of history at 318-257-2872, or at history@latech.edu. Application forms may be downloaded at http://history.latech.edu/scholarships/index.htm. Applications are due no later than March 1. Current holders of McGinty undergraduate scholarships must reapply each year for renewal.  A 3.0 GPA is needed to be considered for renewal, and renewal applications do not need letters of recommendation.
