Music faculty to perform in Howard Auditorium

Faculty members from Louisiana Tech’s department of music will present a free chamber music concert Tuesday, Oct. 30. The concert will feature the Ruston premiere of Dr. Joe L. Alexander’s newest composition, “Scenes from Heinrich Heine’s North Sea Pictures,” written for clarinet, trumpet, violin, guitar, vibraphone and soprano. Alexander’s work was commissioned by the Louisiana Music Teachers Association. Other faculty members slated to perform include Lawrence Gibbs on clarinet, Cain Budds on guitar, Lisa Maxedon as soprano, Sean Teets as tenor, Steele Moegle on piano, Randall Sorensen on trumpet, Ann Sorensen on violin, Shayla Blake on piano and Greg Lyons on vibraphone. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Howard Auditorium. Members of the community are invited to attend.
