COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS

A strong foundation in observation based drawing, color and composition, 2D design, and a multi-disciplinary Methods and Materials course is the cornerstone of the Drawing and Painting program in the School of Design. Drawing and Painting curriculum is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of styles and approaches through courses in representational painting, digital painting, abstraction, cross disciplinary painting practices, and public art projects in local communities. Intermediate and Advanced courses prioritize critical thinking, developing a strong work ethic and establishing a sense of independence and personal responsibility in the studio as personal vision grows.
